Video partition does not match...

Post by NeoRio »

Hey guys, how's it going?

I'm still ripping my games with a Kreon drive because I haven't been able to get a dedicated 360 drive to do the 0800 method for ripping yet. From all I've been told (here on the forum, as well as from the ABGX moderators in the chat room), rips are just as safe when done with a Kreon drive (and patched to ssv2) as when ripping with a 0800 flashed drive. (If this doesn't sound right, please let me know.)

After ripping my games and running them through ABGX--usually some files are automatically downloaded from a database and updated to the ISO, then when I run the ISO the second time through ABGX most of the errors (or missing files) are fixed. Sometimes (on certain games...like COD MW2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2), when ABGX does its automatic updates, it automatically updates the SS to Version 2 (like on the Metro 2033 image posted here). Not sure how that works, as normally I have to manually download the SS and DMI files and manually patch them using ABGX. But at any rate, the folks at ABGX told me that if ABGX can find the SS and DMi for a trusted V2, it will patch it automatically.--does that sound right?

But the real reason I'm writing this post is concerning the yellow error message I always get that says "Video partition does not match...". I have downloaded ABGX's "video waves 3-6" file that supposedly has all the files needed to do whatever it is ABGX needs to do with video patches for newer wave games. But even with that installed, after I finish all my patch work (when I manually patch the ssv2), when I do my final ABGX check, I always get this yellow error message. ABGX personnel told me something to the effect of this error being related to the fact that the version of ABGX currently in use hasn't been updated yet, so it doesn't know the video partitions for newer games. But I'd like to be sure and know that my backups are safe for Live play.

Thank you for your time.

Yea thats fine if it says that. Ive tried that wave 5 and 6 patch thing and it didnt change anything.

Dont rely on ABGX, if youve ripped from a kreon, and there are no errors in the log in XBC (or whatever program your using to rip) then the rip is fine, all you need to do is patch ssv2 to be safe.
