Region free disks

Post by Pix »

Hi all!
Grats to me on my first post here! =)

I really appreciate this community and if I had not discovered this site, while browsing through the slew of outdated guides found with google, I would not have been able to mod my 360 elite. It took me awhile to figure out why DosFlash would not see my BenQ drive. I ended up selecting a different controller in Iprep. I disabled my raid setup and switched to only one sata drive (mainly because when I unplugged the two hard drives to flash my BenQ, windows corrupted). I am really pumped that everything has worked so far.

I was eager to test the hacked firmware, so I downloaded a game and burned it (I purchased a Samsung drive in order to rip my own games, but still havent recieved it yet). When I downloaded Frontline: Fuel of war and checked it with dvd mulleter and Xbox backup creator and there are no errors. Mulleter even says that it is ixtreme compatible. My only concern is that it is a region free disk, though it says that it is NTSC. I burned it onto a DL DVD, and low and behold, it works.

A member of technology services here on campus, told me that he was banned playing a PAL version of Call of Duty 4, and he was not connected to xbox live, nor did he have his hard drive connected. He had two disk read errors, and when he connected to live, he was banned.

This question probably has been asked before, but give me a break since I didn't ask any questions while in the modding process =)

Has anyone played region free disks on live that are iXtreme compatible and pass all checks?

Thanks for all help in advance!

Regions are not the main reason I think for getting banned.

If you're just unlucky and had the pevious versions of the iXtreme firmware they could detect you

In the latstes one that problem is solved so far ...

BUt i think in future they will find it again and then there will be a new firmware ...

So you have to be lucky and not get in the hands of microsoft...

well the thing is it not the firmware that will get you banned.
the guys that keep a running log of the info going in/out of the 360 could tell if it was a firmware thing.

they are get people because of the backups that they are using. ;)

I'm not concerend about the firmware, just about using region free disks that pass all the mulleter checks. I am definitely not going to play PAL games, or games that are out before release dates.

Do iXtreme compatible backups play on live, even if they are region free?
