hi, just wondering if this could affect big if set the layer wrong, i forgot to put 3 in it and wile burning a message came up and i completely ignored it and carried on. but it still works though but my question is how does this affect the backup then.

It would cause the game to mess up when it gets to the layer break, or possibly not play at all.

hi yeah i did get an error. it was disc unreadable error, but when i restarted the game it loaded fine, so yeh if layer set wrong would effect the game read. thanks for the reply again.

It's actually kinda hard to tell what exact affect having the wrong layer break could have. But generally, it's one of the two things I listed above. In your case, you put the first layer at LBA 191760. This means that there isn't as much data on the first layer as there should be. At the same token, there is far more data on the second layer than what should be. If the game loads and plays, then there will be a point where the game will call for data just after LBA 191760 or just before LBA 1913760 and it won't be there so you'll get an error that it can't read the disk. Thats what should happen.

Some game devs has the disk setup to where it scans the disks TOC or table of contents and checks the disk contents just prior to the game booting, so in the case of that, you'll immediately get a can't read disk error.

yeah i won't go online infact ive kind of destroyed it just scribbled the bottom bit with permanent marker, thanks for the info.
