cant dump 74850c

hi guys
im trying to flash my m8s 74850c drive and cant get jf to give me the dump with probe it says "WARNING bad serial dump" and when its just hooked up it finds the drive but says in drive properties "DVD KEY not found (and a key symbol ?)
im using jf 0.1.75b just to dump...but....
i havent done a drive for a bit and iv changed mobo's too so im usinga GIGABYTE ma790x mobo with rs232 card installed + via card & driver + portio + ck3 driver all installed and working fine the drive is newish and it works fine as are all cables ?

any thing im missing ? the tray is half open, my probe is lighting up with the blue and green lights my sata is in and im on the correct port cos jf tells me so... but...
iv been at this 2 nights now and had to ask

im thinking my probe mite be damaged i dont remember both lights being on all the time (blue and green) could somebody please confirm this is wrong for me ?

hello is there anybody out there !

i bought a new ck3 & probe today and it lights up blue (only) till i hit R707 then comes the green
BUT then i still get "WARNING Bad serial Data"
iv replaced all the cables now ? what else could it be ! iv checked and double bloody checked ?
everything looks fine ? iv seen the trouble shooting for this error and done all the steps but im still getting this !

hmmmm iv got its key but the drive still opens and closes i thought it would be an empty drive now ? oh well lets see if i can iprep it

haha sorry man, most weekends I'm busy so I dont get much time for the site.

So you have the key? So far so good. If anything happens to the drive you'll be fine as long as you have the key.

Both lights should not be turned on on the probe, that usually indicates a damaged probe or ck3 i'm not sure which.

Has this drive been flashed before? I assume it hasn't seeing as your probing it.

no its not been done before HaGGardSmurf, but at least i have the key dump-thats the good bit...
i cant get it to give me FF72 (yes again:)) all im getting is FF80 each and every time using l-o-eras.exe BF00

BEEN AT THIS DRIVE A BLOODY WEEK
but i will continue to try , till it hits the wall

Is the tray half open?

If it is, try playing with the tray position, push it in farther, pull it out a bit farther etc. That helps sometimes.

every time iv tried to flash a box there has been a different problem, this was the worst yet ! when i typed l-o-eras i just kept getting FF80 so i just kept typing l-o-eras 16 times THEN i got an FF72 ? managed to get into dosflash but when it came to choosing my drive my bloody keyboard worked for letters but not numbers (WTF) so i pluged in a wired keyboard and it did the same thing for ages just had to keep reebooting and try again & again & again and eventually got it done

Thats weird man, good thing you got it done, I know if I were you the drive would have probably gone through the window...
