Recently attempted flashing a benq dvd drive. Everything went well with Iprep and successfully created the firmware. But when booting up PC and selecting usb device it isn't picking the xbox up even though it is connected. When i am sending the information to the MTk vendor it is looking for the drive but isn't finding it and have no idea why.
Does anybody know what is wrong here?

im not sure what you're talking about.PSJMcNeill wrote:successfully created the firmware
if all you have done is load the hacked firmware in iprep and make the usb flash.
then that is not "successfully created the firmware"
to make your firmware you have to boot ONTO the usb flash
then dump the firmware.Firmtool will run and it (firmtool) will make your hacked firmware.
Then you check the firmware in the backup folder with "firmware toolbox v4.6 make sure the key is good in your hacked firmware (CFW file) and then flash it in.
I think you have made your iprep.
then you boot on to the usb flash drive.if you are not seeing the D1 flash then the computer is not seeing the 360 dvd drive.
this is the pci sata card that works.

this card will see the 360 dvd drive
look over these 2 guides.the 2nd one is a video guide on flashing the benq

Yeah I was gonna say, I think he is saying iPrep is not picking up the 360 DVD-ROM in dos. A good idea is to go into your bios and disable all optical drives and onboard SATA. Typically holding/tapping delete at bootup will boot into your bios.
Open up your PC and disconnect all the SATA and IDE connections except your primary HDD. Disconnect the power supply for everything except your primary HDD as well. If iPrep still doesn't pick up the 360 DVD-ROM, try using a different SATA port on your PCI SATA.

If you are trying to boot with your mother board chances are it won't work. Get the PCI sata card that cofree recommended and you will have better luck.
