damn what a thought !
my kids have been playing in their knix n undies since xmas morn b4 dressing

they wont leave the kinect alone, i walked in to the room to see pics of my 7yr old dancing round the room in her knix with kinect asking do i want to send these pics (do i fxxx) and they wont do it again .
i have since looked at all settings in the dashboard and honestly their aint a lot but iv blocked what i can

MSbstards.

Yes they probs could see you through the Kinnect if they wish, But somehow I really dont think they would, Theyd be literally shut down overnight. Bill Gates would lose everything. The world would be in uproar. He didnt get where he is today by being stupid did he ?

Plus its a load of shite anyway so its over on the elite which I never use and is never on.

Another thing, Do you guys really think theyd design something so good and so popular to risk it all by spying on people ?

it is there intention to use the info they get from watching the people in the room to better target there advertising

“We can cater which content we present to you based on who you are,” said Durkin. “How many people are in the room when an ad is shown? How many people are in the room when a game is being played? When you add this sort of device to a living room, there’s a bunch of business opportunities that come with that.”

While the concepts expressed present a number of privacy concerns, Microsoft's own Kinect Privacy and Online Safety FAQ states the the company "may analyze performance data to ensure users are receiving the optimal game experience, and to help improve Kinect games and the Xbox 360 platform. We may also share some of this aggregated data with companies that provide Kinect-enabled games which will help them improve their product."

the product has the chance to be truly awesome but in the end im sure big business and greed with totally mess it up.

this was a email the wall street journal got from M$

UPDATE: Microsoft emailed the following statement about its current policies regarding privacy and Xbox: “Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE do not use any information captured by Kinect for advertising targeting purposes. Microsoft has a strong track record of implementing some of the best privacy protection measures in the industry. We place great importance on the privacy of our customers’ information and the safety of their experiences.”

All that is now is damage control
They have people all over posting about how M$ would never do a thing like that
haha what a joke we know M$ is a company that will and does LIE

so lets think about this for a sec
What they are saying is trust us, we are a great company

well guys im going to error on the side of cation on this one
I know from the past that M$ is a company that has/will lie just to get its way or to try and get out of its responsibility
lets not forget for 3 years they said "no there is nothing wrong with the 360" when anyone that new anything about the thing new better
it was a hunk of hardware crap.

guys im by know means telling anyone what to do

Yeah the finger reconition update is really there way of hiding what it really does and that is get a much better image for seeing you!
