I flashed all types of drives for friends for a few years, and though it took a bit of tweaking at times, I was always able to get to the bottom of it after a bit of time. I use a P5Q Pro motherboard with a via card installed and the CK3 Pro.
I stopped flashing drives for anyone probably the last year or so, simply because I was involved in too many other things. In that time I upgraded my PC to Windows 7, and now that I'm hoping to install LT+ on a drive, I may regret that decision.
I have gone through the steps I thought required: Disabled the VIA drivers, installed CK3s USB drivers, and the drive is being detected just fine. What I did notice however is I no longer get the option to switch my COM port to COM 3, which is what I always used before. I simply get a bad serial data message.
If anyone has any idea what I missed, or can point me in the direction of a tutorial meant for users making the OS switch like I did, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.
*edit*
I just updated a Saumsung drive and that worked, but can't seem to get the Lite-on 8 series v.1 to function correctly. Is there something I'm missing?

man jungle goes nuts in win 7
and dont work just right for me
i do all my flashing from a pc with xp
or just boot to the xp side of my pc
if i was you
i would find a xp key and set up a dual boot
and do it that way
if your mother board has onbo sata dont install the via drivers if you do that
just use the onbo sata with jungle
