im replacing a benq for a benq and need HELP!!!
my old drive stopped reading discs and then stop responding. so i ordered a new one. I need help in getting the firmware to work right. ive done both drives with iprep. i got the org key and dont know how to put it into the new one. ive tried coping the org, backups/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx/benq-cfw.bin file into the new folder and doing fben and it goes to the erasing section. at that point it says erasing...wrong drive status! how do i go from the old benq to the new. can someone help me with a good tutorial seeing im a noob at the dvd firmware. thanks alot
Re: im replacing a benq for a benq and need HELP!!!
man you need to get a copy of the orig firmware that is in the new benq dvd drive.
put your key from the 1st dvd drive in that firmware.
then flash it in with the restore.

after you get it working with a orig firmware and it will play a orig 360 game.
then use iprep to dump and flash the drive as normal.

Actually, if they are the same drive, you should be able to dump the firmware with iprep and let it make the hacked firmware. Then just connect the new drive and go through the flashing process and it should work fine without having to restore or anything. Especially since before the new firmware gets written to the Benq, it goes through an erase process.

Re: im replacing a benq for a benq and need HELP!!!
cofree the link you gave me says to use ofw. i was using cfw. that could be my problem. ill try that and post back.
and i tried doing the first half of the flash with the old drive. then turning the 360 off and the halfway point and putting the new one in. it also does the same error at the same point. the only time i got a different error was when i just tried doing the full flash with the new drive. then it came up with an invaild key error. which helped me out in realizing it needs a key transfer.

Re: im replacing a benq for a benq and need HELP!!!
could this be causing anything.
when i click prepare destination on iprep. it starts to load and i get an error. the error says: mkubt.exe - drive not ready
the drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. please check drive a: and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed.
there are 3 options to hit. cancel, try again, continue
if i hit cancel or continue it most go around it and it starts loading and finishs.
if i hit try again it does the same thing.
is this bc of my sata dvd drive. im thinking it might be trying to pick it up seeing thats what the sata cable is usually plugged into

I would have to say that I would think that it might have something to do with it. I'm thinking mkubt.exe is what iprep uses to make the usb stick bootable. I'm not sure how to fix that either. Maybe CoFree will have a suggestion on that part.

im not sure what or when you are getting that error.
i can say that if when you are making your iprep usb flash if it gives you a error then just stop. You can no trust that flash to work right.
for iprep to work you need net frame work v2.0 installed in your computer.
make sure you are using the new iprep 101 v006.2
go into when it gives you the error.
how about put up a screen shot of the error.
