I need to unflash my samsung ms28

Post by Bren »

I need to unflash my Samsung MS28 drive. I flashed it using iPrep Version: 0.0.1 with iXtreme1.2b and that’s the current firmware I’m at still.

I still have this version of iPrep and my orig.bin file. How do I load the orig.bin file onto my flash drive using iPrep. I click load ixtreme firmware and choose my orig.bin file but it just gives me an error message and doesn't proceed to load that firmware.

Also once I finally get the orig.bin file onto my flash drive I believe I have to boot the flash drive then connect the 360 then just type iflash 1234567 12345.

My 360 gives me disc read errors so I want to unflash it and send it back to Microsoft.

Thanks for your time.

when you load firmwares into iprep, it's expecting hacked firmwares so you won't be able to load your original firmware into iprep. If you still have your boot media that you originally made with iprep when you originally flashed the drive, just boot with it and at the prompt, type in rsam 1234567 12345 and that should run the restore process and take care of it. If you don't still have the boot media or it isn't setup like it was when you flashed the drive, get the latest version of iprep and the hacked samsung firmware, install iprep, load the hacked samsung firmware into iprep and let it make your boot media. Then take your original firmware and rename the file to sam-ofw.bin. Then explore your boot media and open the backups folder. Create a folder in the backups folder called 1234567, then open that folder. Then create another folder called 12345. Put a copy of sam-ofw.bin in here. Then just boot with it and run rsam 1234567 12345 and it should run the restore process.

Why do you want to get rid of the hacked firmware? If your trying to upgrade firmware you dont have to restore the original first.

^ehh, looks like he wants to send it to ms.

although i don't know if i would do that, considering you would almost certainly get the unmoddable lite on drive.

just a heads up lol.

i would look for a replacement drive an spoof in back in ur 360, anyone agree ?

I agree with Digital. I would just buy another DVD drive off somewhere and then spoof it and reinstall it in your Xbox 360 and then send it in to Microsoft because i think that Microsoft may figure out that our flashed your drive. I would keep it on the safe side and go with what Digital said. That is just the safe way. https://secure.llamma.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=73_86" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would look on that site. That is the cheapest one that i have found on the internet. I mean there may be another site. But just trying to help you out with your problem.

yeah man if/when my benq stops reading discs, i''ll either try adjusting the laser or if all else fails then just get another one or a sammy as a replacement.

i think thats better than sending it in and getting a lite on by far.

yup.
