Could I get a little clarification on the difference between using the BenQ 0800 VAD6038 v3.0/Lite-On 0800 DG-16D2S v3.0 vs. the iXtreme Burner Max 1.0 FW? I understand that when using the Max it's using the specific LiteOn drive in a PC as other tuts have explained nicely (thanks CoFree), I also understand that this is the "preferred" method as of now. Personally however I have a few options for v3.0 and would rather not have to buy or more importantly wait (30 seconds....but I want it now H.S.) for one to ship.
More succinctly, are there down sides to using the 3.0 fw? Is there a tut for setting up and using the 3.0 for either drive (I'll most likely be using a DG-16D2S) and if so could you lead my sorry ass to it please, I seem to be needing my hand held on this one? I'm super exhausted so if I looked past obvious information and am creating a redundancy I pre apologize.
Cheers

Re: 0800 vs 1.0 Burner Max FW
In a nutshell...
0800 v3.0 for ripping
LT max for burning
LT 2.0 for playing
The 0800 firmware is what you flash to a BENQ xbox 360 drive for use in your computer to copy xbox 360 games.
The LT max firmware is for use on a Liteon dvd burner (iHas version SATA), which allows you to burn your backups made with the 0800 firmware.
The LT 2.0 firmware is what you flash to a BENQ xbox 360 drive to play copies of your backup xbox 360 games.

Ah of course.....I had a feeling I was missing the boat here on something. COuldn't figure how the hell you'd hook the drive straight to the PC to rip it. That would be cool though if you could use a ck3 or something to rip on a 0800 connected to a PC. Got it now, guess I'd better get on the bandwagon and get me one of those. I have an older lightscribe in the closet, guess I ought to give er' a look.
Cheers friend.

benq or liteon with 0800v3 fw is to be hooked upto pc using ck3 and either,x360usbpro or sata cable.
the liteon drive to be flashed with LT burner max must be an iHAS version B
c4eva listed 6 drives and can be bought for £20 approx
