PlayStation 3 firmware version 2.41, which should fix the problems with Sony’s most recent system update, will reportedly be released by Wednesday.
Last week Sony released a major PS3 update which introduced in-game access to the system's XrossMediaBar and a Trophies achievement system. It then had to pull firmware 2.40 for "further testing" after numerous complaints were made by users running into technical problems, including consoles locking up, after downloading the update.
Sony customer support has now told our friends at CVG that a new firmware update fixing the problems will be released “midweek”, although Sony has yet to make an official announcement on the subject. We’ve contacted the firm for confirmation of the report.
