CoFree If you read this I just had a few questions about your vid on flashing the sammy drives (Video:: Flashing the 360 Samsung Drives iprep101 v006). The first one is, will that guide work on both the MS25 and MS28 drives?. Two in your vid after you dump the firmware you say to power down your computer, start it back up in windows and make a copy of you serial key, now the thing that im wondering about is, after you do that and you go back to boot up you computer off the usb flash drive, do I have to have the sata cable unplugged and wait to plug it back in when i am ready to flash the firmware or do I leave the dvd drive plugged in the whole time after I have dumped it?. The reason I ask this is because in your vid you only plug in the sata cable when you are getting ready to dump the firmware. I was just wondering if you have to do this as well when you are getting ready to flash the firmware ( as in, I have to plug the sata cable back in when I get ready to use the fsam command)
Thanks.

if its a v25 and it has never been flashed you will not have to do the 10 sec trick.
it will just dump the drive.
make sure you reboot to windows and check the firmware with firmware toolbox for a good key.also make a copy of that firmware in more than one place.that key is your consoles life blood.without it it dies.xxrepoxx wrote:you say to power down your computer, start it back up in windows and make a copy of you serial key, now the thing that im wondering about is, after you do that and you go back to boot up you computer off the usb flash drive, do I have to have the sata cable unplugged and wait to plug it back in when i am ready to flash the firmware or do I leave the dvd drive plugged in the whole time after I have dumped it?

you do it the same way, as when you did the dump.
hook the sata cable up AFTER you are booted up in dos and ready to flash.
the reason that is.xxrepoxx wrote:The reason I ask this is because in your vid you only plug in the sata cable when you are getting ready to dump the firmware
i have a backed up orig firmware from the dvd drive i was dumping.I have flaed that drive many times.so i did not care
what happened.i new i could always fix it with my orig firmware.
so just to keep the guide short i just did a dump then strait to the flash.
dont skip that checking part.reboot in windows and check that key.
