SATA card installation problem.

Post by MrBj »

Hi everyone,

As i mentioned in my previous post that I bought this sata card on ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :IT&ih=019" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

Now, I have received the card but I can't make my windows xp - sp3 recognize this. I tried downloading the latest drivers but it doesn't recognize them as driver. It tells me that I have a "RAID Controller" but no suitable software can be found.

It shows "known device" with a yellow question mark... Does somebody know any possible solution of this problem?

Thanks!!!

Where did you get the drivers from? If you got them from the card makers website, try getting them from here:
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?Pa ... bCatID=117" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Before trying to install the drivers, remove the unkown device from device manager and don't let it detect the hardware. Just try to delete from device manager and run the driver installer and see if it will install it. If not, as a matter of troubleshooting, I would try the card in a different PC. If it still didn't install proper, you may have a bad card even though windows sees it and knows something is there, the card is listed as being plug and play, which means it should work with windows base raid controller drivers.
