Hi - ive got ck3 pro plus the probe...im going to start to flash my liteon drive.....im following this guide as posted here in the tutorial section :
viewtopic.php?f=110&t=3201" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
im just a little confused as it says
"2. Some sort of Serial TTL or USB to Serial TTL like a CK3 lite or pro or Maximus's tool will work too. I'll be using a CK3 in this guide."
can i use the usb connection that i have on the ck3 pro connected to a usb port on my pc ?...or does it have to be serial port only?
looking at the setup photo it shows the ck3 pro being used...the usb connection i can see on the side....but does the other end of this usb connection go into a usb port or serial port ?...if latter, i need some kind of special cable..?
cheers
flashing liteon drive question
Re: flashing liteon drive question
With the CK3 you need the USB cable plugged into the USB port and a sata cable plugged into the sata port on your lite-on. You only need the USB connection for getting the key, identity and inquiry.com files from the drive. You don't need the usb connection for flashing.

Re: flashing liteon drive question
