What are the Xbins "Speeds" for BenQ Drives?

Post by chrischarles2002 »

Hi guys. I just went to the XBINS FTP site and got the current FW-RAR file for the BenQ vad6038. In the RAR (which is now called ("BenQ iXtremev1.1MultiSpeed_updated_firmtool.rar" vs. the old name "BenQ iXtremev1.1_rev2.rar"), there are folders with different drive speeds ("2x", "5x", "8x", "12x" and "Non-Stealth"). Which folder am I supposed to use?

1st you don't have to unrar the file for it to load in iprep.

as for the speed that is up to you

all i use is the 12x speed. that is the speed you 360 dvd drive spins at when it is stock.
if you want a quiter drive then use a slower speed. The slower the speed the longer the load times will be.

the non-stealth firmware that is in there should not be used unless you know just what you are doing.

if you need anything else just post
