Flashing Liteon with Iprep008.8

Sorry for my ignorance,but I have flashed Benq's and Sams with the Iprep 008.8 by just hooking drive to an old 360 an connecting to sata on comp.I have no serial connector on my pc and was wondering if I could flash the Liteon this way after soldering the 707 piont.

Sorry man, but you'll have to have one of these three things to be able to get the information that you need to flash a lite-on. 1. a USB RS-232 TTL converter 2. Xecuter CK3 lite or Pro 3. Maximus 360 xtractor.

The reason is, the lite-on is a beast of a different nature. You need the key.bin, identity.bin and the inquiry.bin files to be able to build a hacked firmware. In order to get those, the commands to retrieve them is sent to the drive across a serial connection and then the information is sent back across the sata port.

Using one of those three devices that I listed above, will allow you to get those files because those devices convert the serial port into USB so all you have to do is plug the device into the USB port and the computer installs a com port but the communication goes across the USB port.

Sadalius,do you mean I need 2 of those,a serial to usb and Ck3.Also if I get a probe how do I enter this in to iprep manually?Is the a link to this?Thanks 4 Your help!

No, you just need one of those devices. If you got the cheapest device, the RS232 TTL converter, you could use the 360 to power the drive. Then just connect the sata port from the drive to the sata port on your computer.

Personally, I would recommend getting the CK3 with the CK3 probe. It's a little pricey, but you don't have to do any soldering or what not that way.

What are you wanting to put into iprep manually??? You need to have all your stuff ready to go before you set iprep up. That way it will do all the detecting for you and you can have a proper setup.

Once you get the key with the probe,does the Ck3 tool put that on your flashdrive for iprep?

No man, first you setup iprep. In iprep you tell it what com port you'll be using, load up the ixtreme firmwares and such and it will turn a jump drive into something that you can boot from. Then you boot to it, turn on the lite-on run iprep and follow the instructions. You will use the CK3 probe and get your key and such all from DOS. You won't need to use jungleflasher or CK3 tool when you use iprep.
