benq in 0800 mode--soo close

hey guys i got my drive flashed with 0800, now im having trouble having my computer recognize it i tried to hotplug while im in windows, i get nothing... im going to go try when windows boots up now.. any help would be terrific.

on my dell that is what i had to do,
restart the computer with the power to the drive on but the cable undone at the windows loading bar plug it in and keep your fingers crossed.

i think this will be my next video
there is a lot of renewed interest in the sam/benq 0800 firmware for making backups
i guess because the sh-d162c is getting a little harder to fine and there seems to be many samsung dvd drive on ebay.

SUCCESS I successfully backed up my Gears of War 2 !!

I had to turn off computer, power drive, then start computer!

P.S. there is no longer speed 4x in XBC can i use 5x?

i dont know why the 4x would not be there.it is in mine.

i would dump slower rather than faster

the reason is you prolly use a kreon and mine is a benq and 4x isnt an option. idk why

i've always dumped at the default 12x, seems fine.

anyway yeah i don't think the benq has 4x maybe 5x tho.

The reason that you don't have 4x as a choice is because if you remember the older ixtreme packages, you had speed choices. 12x, 8x and 5x. Thats why you don't have 4x as a choice. The 360 drives are limited to those speeds.

i was thinking that xbcv2.8 was not giving you a dump option of 4x speed.
i was not thinking about the flash in firmware read speed.
