XBOX 360 HARD DRIVE MOD

Does anyone know where i can get a tutorial and program for installing a western digital WD1200BEVs 120GB hard drive on my 360, and can it be used to install and save games. Thanks

First, you have to find or get an hddss.bin from a legitimate 120GB 360 drive. Then you can use hddhacker to flash that bin to the scorpio. Get a connector to hook it up to the 360, connect it, boot it, format it, use it just like a regular 360 hdd.

The program you can get from xbins. The adapter to connect the hdd to your computer comes with the purchase of a connectivity kit. When you look at the listing for the connectivity kit, make sure it mentions the hard drive adapter. As for the hddss.bin, you'll have to track that down through google. It's out there, but we can't post a link to it here. Just make sure to get the one for the 120GB drive and not the 20GB one or you'll end up with a 20GB drive instead of a 120GB.

Would it be possible to modify something in the .bin so xbox recognizes it as higher then 120GB? So you can use bigger HDD's then 120?

Nope. Thats why you need the hddss.bin from an original drive in the first place, it's digitally signed and if you change something in it, it breaks the signature and doesn't work.

I would imagine you could use any brand of HDD, but the only non MS HDD's I have seen are western digital or something like that...

I have a question too

If you use your HDD on a console, and it gets banned, can you then use that HDD on another console, or does the xbox notice that is has been banned from live or something?

The only thing that gets banned is the Mac address from the console you should be able to take the HDD and your profile along with it to another system.

there are very few in fact you can get to work.
