Hey CoFree or anyone that can please answer this question, I just got my 360 back from microsoft(three red lights), when I sent it to them my system had a hitachi 0047 dvd drive, but now it has a new lite-on drive, I had flashed the 0047 hit drive(still have original hit 0047 firmware)and can do benq, sammy and all other hit drives as well, but I cant do a lite-on(dont know how to use soldering gun), Can I spoof a lite-on drive with a hit 0047 drive(or any other drive) if I find one on the net and is there any soldering involved in getting the original firmware off the new lite-on drive.

You can spoof any drive into the console you have now. The only thing is you gotta make sure that MS didn't switch out any parts, because if they did(a new motherboard for instance) and they changed the Key by chance...And you flash in the Key from the Old, then you are looking at a very expensive DVD player. What I would do, is get yourself a CK3, get a probe, and a rs232 cable (Serial Cable), dump the Fw from the Liteon drive and compare it with the original firmware from the hitatchi. Then there you can spoof the FW to any drive you want, I would go with a BenQ first and then a MS28 if you want.Can I spoof a lite-on drive with a hit 0047 drive(or any other drive) if I find one on the net and is there any soldering involved in getting the original firmware off the new lite-on drive.

get the ck3 pro or lite.
with the probe.then you will have no soldering to do.
being that M$ changed out the drive
They could have changed all the console firmware(for lack of a better word)
that would mean you now have a different key in your dvd drive.
you have to dump that drive and get the 4 files from it.
then you can go from there

They are right......
It would be best if u do a completely new spoofing, forget about your old Hit drive. Everything you want can be downloaded from this website via the download section or through xbins.
You can buy the ck3 and probe kit, it would be easier for you. I had created my own rs232 adapter and probe to flash mine.
But it took me about 1 and half month to get all the parts, mainly because i live in Jamaica and the parts are hard to get. But to prevent any soldering at all, go with the ck3 and probe.
