Questions about BenQ

Okay-I'm new at this read the tutorials and just want to sum up some questions if I may.

1. I have a Memorex DVD dual-layer drive. will this work okay with backups? or must it be a Samsung drive?

2. while reading the tutorial you mention that some BenQ's may need to be soldered. Is this still the case? or will the latest flash take care of all BenQ's?

3. I have an HP workstation Xrw4100 that has a sata prot on the motherboard for my hard drive it's an option can I use that or do I need a Sata card?

4. I have a Blaster 360NE with the USB360 does anyone know or tried using this with the BenQ for flashing?

as long as its a burner it should work
you need to use iprep101 v006 to flash there is no soldering
i would get the sata card.

i did put a blaster360 v1 on my benq.i would not do that till you have a good understanding of how to do the modding.then maybe install the blaster.
