new i-xtreme for old hitachi drives help please
Ok here we go ill try to keep it short. Im not a pro by any means thats the reason im back here. Last time i was looking to flash i found the easiest way here so im back. I have read some on the new 1.51 and was wanting to get some info. First if i upgrade to 1.51 will i still be able to play my backups that im am using for the 1.4, second all i ever use the I-xtreme for is use of back ups so should i go with the 1.51 or wait for the 1.6 i just wanna be able to play the newer back ups since microsoft has changed some things on newer discs if 1.6 is just for extra features and has nothing to do with reading back ups properly then im gonna go 1.51. Last thing is my hitachi right now is running the 1.4 i got it there using the jump wire to get into mobe-b and then used a usb to sata cable to flash. Will this method still work to get to 1.51 if it will can someone guide me to how this would be done as i have not seen anything on this being done for 1.51. One more thing when i go to restore original do i have to have the files i switched out when i flashed to 1.4. The tut i used to get to 1.4 told me to save file and email it to myself so i do still have the originals. Any help would be great as i have been of the seen for a while now and need to get caught up. Thanks to anyone that helps and dont hassle about not being up to date thanks again.

I would update if I were you. It's the first update for Hit in over a year and will allow you to play the newer discs.
ETA for 1.6 is 2 months
I just updated my 79 and all went well.
Head over to xbins and grab Jungleflasher 0.1.51 and the Hitachi firmware pack.
Make sure you have net framework 2.0 or higher installed (3.5 for Vista)
Extract Jungleflasher.
Install port i/o (optional but recommended if having problems detecting drive with Win drivers)
Extract ALL of the Hitachi 1.51 firmware into the firmware folder in your Jungleflasher directory.
If you dont have a Connectivity Kit and are powering the drive using the xbox you can get into modeB 2 different ways.
1. You can use the slax2.1 boot disk method (check the downloads and guides sections)
2. Jungleflasher has a command to send mode B but you need to get the drive powered off with the tray open.
You can read the jungleflashed pdf guide to finish.
Here's a link to it. (it's also linked in Jungleflasher in the main window and the Firmtool tab
http://www.360mods.net/JungleFlasher/JungleFlasher.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Post up if you need more help.

Absolutely, the new Jungle Flasher 1.51 was updated well. With better Hitachi support, and extra support for the VIA Card (not neccessary for the Hitachi) Team Jungle out did theirselves. If you have any problems dumping the CFW that's on your drive now, don't try to flash your drive. Remember measure twice cut once. And always ask for directions if you get hung up on something.

Today Money, Tomorrow the WORLD!!
