I just got my Xtractor today and I been trying to flash my lite on drive. I been watching the 3 videos off xtractors site but they are just basic videos. I tryed using usb off the chip and it kept locking my pc up when booting the chip. So I switched to a seriel cable and I beleave I was able to dump my dummy bin 256 kb,inquiry 1 kb ,seriel 1 kb,identify 1kb,key 1 kb but to be honest I haven't located any info on how large the files should be so I just don't no.I Loaded the files into the 360 Xtractor Reader v2.8 the key,inquiry,identify but when I try loading the lite-on base lite-on 1.51 firmware but I get a message cannot determine Fw type ,if you are using Hitachi Cryted Firmare,Please de-crypt it (with fw toolbox) before using it.So to be 100% honest I'm lost and in need of your help Please!

The files are larger than that, which means you didn't get a good dump, do NOT erase that drive....
We need to know a little more about your setup, what SATA are you using, and what OS you are on. JF is a little tempremental at times to say the least. It sounds like you are having problems with the usb COM port, especially if serial has got further.
Does the drive show up on your port when you look for it? And what are you using to bridge/probe r07?
With the lite on , you need all 3 files before you can erase/flash. If you don't have a good copy of those, you end up with a DVD player

I allready have 1 dvd player I had a Ck3 and thought I had a good dump but the ck3 usb was bad and the chip was messed up the vender replaced with this chip.
I have Windows Xp I have a sata 6421 card I have done Samsungs and Benq with that card.
I have a Xtreme with the newer probe and I been using the xtreme software.I have A lite on Drive and I also can now get the usb to show up and yes when I look for it the seriel shows as com 1 and usb as com 3 on port 9000. What three files do I need and what should there sizes be?
And yes this time i'm asking more not taking any more chances on having another dvd player lol...

I do apologise, those files are only 1kb...
Identify is 512 bytes, Inquiry is 96 and key is 16 bytes.
As always, check the dummy that was made from those files with JF. Always check for a good key (but it sounds like you already know this). You can also load just the key to verify it's good...
