i have a Q about coFree's tutorial flashing the benq

Post by yousif666 »

Hi

cofree when i saw your tutorial video of flashing the benq drive (the latest one)

i saw you connecting the drive with a connectivity kit

its connectivity kit pro right ?

and i saw that you power up the socket from a molex

is it the power supply of the same PC you are using ? or an external power supply ?

cus im afraid to use a USB cus alot of users reported that the socket is burnt up with the USb and some of them when they connected the molex

Think cofree usually uses a spare atx supply but you can use one of your pc ones (i had to use a spare psu as every time i turned the ck3 on it reset my pc) And yup it will have been a ck3 pro. If you are worried about using a usb get yourself an r232 cable and use the com port instead.

Yip as it was a benq it doesnt need either (just the molex for power) You can use one of your internal pc ones as i think my problem was down to a cheap pc psu.

on the benq you dont have to use a rs232 or a usb
in fact it wont work if you do.

the benq dumps the firmware out through the sata cable.

i use a old at power that i junked out of a pc.

you you use you computer power supply
make sure the 360 dvd drive is grounded to your computer case one way of another.

just have the dvd drive setting on the edge of the computer case or a small wire taped from one to the other.
