Re: use JF to flash HL V46 drvie probem
Curious. I still tend to use toolbox for the Hitachi drives . You could maybe try using winapi? Have you copied all the firmwares over into the jungleflasher firmware folder. Sorry if these seem basic questions but i'm trying to rule out the easiest solutions.

Try the winapi and maybe change the setting to ram upload instead of classic to see if you have any success.

Re: use JF to flash HL V46 drvie probem
ram upload is for 78/79 drive isn't it?dalecheesy wrote:Try the winapi and maybe change the setting to ram upload instead of classic to see if you have any success.

Re: use JF to flash HL V46 drvie probem
Its the only one selectable for those drives but it should be possible to use it with the other versions.
"Older ROM Versions of the drive, v32, v36, v40, v46, v47, v58 and v59 are dumped using Classic Mode, Mode Select, or RAM upload"
I'd definitely try the winapi first though. If all else fails you may have to use toolbox but thats no biggie. Weird as you have already done a Hitachi but you'll find different versions can be troublesome.

Re: use JF to flash HL V46 drvie probem
Could be down to jungle. I never could get the blighter to work with the Hitachi's (mind they were v78 drives) so i used toolbox and it worked straight away. if you still aren't having any luck with the winapi setting/changing it from classic then your only option might be toolbox. Some people have flashed a few different versions then get stuck on a specific drive. Its curious to say the least.

Re: use JF to flash HL V46 drvie probem
For the restore: (not needed as yours is stock but could be handy if you decide to update in the future)
- To do a restore on Hitachi versions prior to 78 use the RESTORE.BAT file
that was included on those versions, please note that IF your drive was
spoofed then the restoring would need aditional steps, ask forums.
- To do a Restore on Hitachi 78 and above you will need the original.bin
file that should be read on the first installation. On future versions
of Toolbox new features will be added to skip the need of having this file but ATM you will need it.
- So lets continue for a 78/79 restore:
- Put your Hitachi drive in ModeB
- connect the drive to the pc via the onboard sata
- Make sure your drive is visible and has a letter asigned on Windows
- Insert a DVD Movie or a 360 game in the drive.
- Launch Fw Toolbox and open the original file for the drive,
- MAKE SURE THE DETAILS SHOWS A FULLY ORIGINAL FILE, if labels such as "Spoofed"
or "XTREME" appear on the details then it IS NOT AN ORIGINAL FILE.
- Go to "Tools->Direct Drive Flash->Differential Flash RESTORE"
- select the drive "Read Drive and Detect Differences", a list should be populated.
- Important If you are ASKED about if you want to keep the drives already on the
drive CHOOSE YES.
- Press the "Start Flashing" button
and for the flashing:
Still in ModeB
There are 2 modes of reading the FW, Classic and RAW, RAW is far better
as no previous stealth method would fool it, but currently hangs if you
have the drive attached thru USB-SATA adapter, use only with native SATA.
Classic only works for Hitachi Versions Previous to 78 and if the drive
is already hacked then the reading could be fooled by the FW Stealth
methods. The best recomendation is USE RAW as first option.
- If RAW Method doesn't work try classic.
- Press the button "EJECT" on the window, the tray on the drive should open
- Insert a DVD Movie (dvd9) or a 360 game in the drive.
- Press the "LOAD" button on the window, the tray should close, wait a few
seconds, if a window appears asking to open the media inserted, close it.
- Press the button "RAW Dump Firmware As ..." and. (save as original.bin)
- If everything goes fine the reading will start and after a few seconds
a windows asking if u want to check the checksum will appear, Choose YES
- If the checksum check DOES NOT PASS then stop your installation, that
could be sign of a poor wire connection or a none Compatible sata chipset.
Try on another PC.
- If the checksum says PASS then it will ask you if you want to open, Choose YES.
- Now the Main Window will show firmware info.
- Highlight the key and copy it
- If you are going to use 1.51 load it in and save the key onto it.
- "Tools->Direct Drive Flash->Differential Flash Patch"
- select the drive then "Read Drive and Detect Differences", a list should be populated
- Press the "Start Flashing" button and after a few seconds the thing is done
you can shutdown everthing and start testing the drive on the console.
