Flashing A V79

Post by ODGE »

Hello All,
I have bought a X-Box from E-Bay and it has a Hitachi V79 drive in it.
I can get the drive into Mode B no problem, but when i open Firmware Toolbox or Jungle Flasher it reports the drive as being a V47?
I'm in work now and trying to remember what i have done to try and flash it.
I have Windows XP with SP3 installed,I can use the Nforce 4 Sata and get the drive into Mode B and i also have the Via 6421 that will also get the drive into Mode B.
I have a tutorial for flashing the drive and have the unlock disk which i have tried to use to unlock the drive but it does not work?
In Jungle Flasher i have selected the GDR 3120 Tab and this is where it is showing the drive as a V47 rather that a V79?
I have found out my port properties using Iprep and input them also, and it should then give the drive details below Port Properties but it isn't?It just says No Drive Detected.
The drive is showing up in Device Manager and no errors are showing at all in device manager.
Has anybody got and idea as to what is happening because this is driving me mental now lol.
If you require anymore information then please get in touch and i will try my best to answer any questions the best way i can.
The drive is stock and has not been flashed and i am tyring to update to iextreme 1.51.
Thank you for any help that you may be able to offer.
Take care.
ODGE.

i would say that you have the wrong port in the drop down
when you get the right port
then you should see the right dvd drive listed.
