Samsung Drive locked up on me
Samsung Drive locked up on me
Hello, I was coming to the robin hood playground to hopefully get someone to help me out. This is a similar problem to the lite on drive lock up except this is with a Samsung drive. I was flashing my samsung with the updated firmware 1.51 using jungleflasher 1.51 when the drive locked up on me now it will not open or close or anything. Can someone please help me with this. Thanks
Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
If you restart JF, can you still see the drive??
if you can see the drive you may be able to erase and reflash the drive. If you can't see it in JF, I would recommend having a go with Iprep in DOS...
As long as you have the key, you can still get you 360 playing games again, it may mean you need to replce the drive though. I would say have a go at reviving that drive first, and if you can't get anything from it, then I would recommend having a look on fleabay for a replacement. It's a pain in the arse, but is recoverable (providing you have a good dump from that drive) and not that expensive.

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
I believe you can use CoFree's Lock Up tutorial but just skip the l-o-erase part at the beginning.

Have a read what sadalius has said here about using that for all drives but the Hitachi.

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
Thanks for trying to help still having trouble. Ok the drive freezes my computer when I try it through jf. So I tried Iprep. I tried the process of going through it as I was flashing it from stratch as if I was flashing for the first time using Iprep. But it says no valid version found in backups with the serial number. So I was thinking I was not going through that process right. So I was hoping you would elaborate on how to flash it in dos using the Iprep Thanks.
Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
well man
we will need a little more info.
did you get a dump of your fimware with a good key in it.
did you see get the key in the hacked firmware.
if you have your key you should be able to get this worked out.

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
Yes I have the original firmware with the key and the cfw file when I modded it with the 1.5 firmware. I was trying to update to the 1.51 firmware when it locked on during jf. So I still have the original key and stuff when I modded it the first time wih 1.5 firmware.
Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
well if it locked up[ after the erase then you will need to recover doing this.
viewtopic.php?f=195&t=3226" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So this can be used for Samsung and BenQ Drives too CoFree and is it the same process shown.
Cheers.

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
I made a recovery video and put it on youtube. It helped many with lite-on but it should help your situation too. First open up the drive and manually eject it then push it back in BEFORE ANYTHING then follow my video. My drive wouldnt open etc and was dead it came back to life

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
When I try and flash it with Iprep I keep getting an error about the key or something. I think I am just doing something wrong. I am using the lastest Iprep and I am trying to flash it as if I am doing a regular mod but keep getting the error. Is there something specific you have to do like with the lite-on
Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
you need to
build a iprep boot flash
in the backup floder make a folder named 1234567 in that folder put a folder named 12345
in that put a copy of the firmware with your key in it
that you want to flash in
make sure to rename it samcfw.bin
boot on to the usb flash and at the prompt
run the "fsam 1234567 12345" command
that will flash in the firmware you put in the 2 folder in the backup folder.

Re: Samsung Drive locked up on me
Hey Thanks for the help guys I've been out of town back though. I tried it and finally got past the invalid key thing. Now I ran into one more problem. I was hoping you could help me with before I install windows Xp on my computer. I have vista and I am running into a problem after I do the fsam thing. I ran into a internal stack overflow erorr. Is there anyway I can get past this before I install XP back on my computer. Thanks
