hello all
hello all
great site guys,i have a quick question as im new to this,i bought a connectivity kit via card etc to flash my xbox,it was modded with 1.5 when i got it ,its a benq drive can i go ahead and flash straight over with 1.51 as i dont have the orginal fireware and i asume the key is the same in the 1.5 thats already installed, also on the video tutorials it always says make a back up of key and firmware does iprep do this for you or is it stored in the system back up folder when you close the system down,as i said im new to this and thanks for your understanding, cheers

Re: hello all
Hi ray and welcome along. Yeah you just flash it like its never been done before with iprep and yip the backup will be in the Backup/1234567/12345 folder. For safety boot back into windows before using the FBEN command and save a copy of it (try and save it somewhere off your pc too like emailing it to yourself/saving it onto a disc as if you lose it and the drive goes kaput you're left with a dvd player)
If you get stuck on anything else post it in the help forum and one of the guys will help you out. Happy flashing.

Re: hello all
hey man, wad up!
couple of things, what did you use when you tried to flash your lite-on drive? connectivity kit? via card? did you get the dummy, identify, inquiry and key bins?
where did the hitachi drive come from? was it out of 360 or brand new? either way if you just put it in the lite-on 360 it wouldn't play games. that would have to be spoofed, but in order to do that you need the information from the lite-on and from the hitachi drive. . .
you got a lot going on and you can mess things up permanently so start from the beginning and work with one drive at a time.
explain your process with the lite-on drive.

hi there iamwatt
thanks very much for your reply here goes
i bout a brand new xbox arcade with the lite on drive in and read loads of forums so i ad a go me self to flash it right i used iprep to do a dos boot disk cos jungle was doin anything for me i just plugge my sata cable into motherboard sata and then into lite on drive (didnt use connectivity kit)
i got the inquiry identify but no dummy or key bin
i erased the liteon in dosflash and got to the fx72 part all goin well then i wrote the flash with litcfw.bin it let me do that and then it read the bakns and it sed it wrote to the banks but wen i tried a backup game and also an original game it sed insert this into an xbox 360 the only thing it plays is original dvd movies i must of messed up on the bin files cos i only got 2 ov them
i suppose there is no way of getting it back to its origianl state of playing original games is there
alo the hitachi drive came out of an old xbox i bought for 10 pounds its a hitachi GDR 3120L
ROM VERSION IS 0047DJ MADE IN 2005 wen i put this drive in my new xbox it boots upto the dashboard and all that but it wont play anything only movies
so im wondering is there any way to use the hitachi drive at all or is there a way to put the hitachi drive back to original state cos i downloaded a pack and it has a file called hitachi orig47.bin wud that work to make my hitachi drive alive again or not its just i cant test the hitachi in the 10 pound xbox i bought cos the power cble is different to mine all i was told is that a customer brought it into the shop and sed it has red ring of death so i just bought it for the drive
hope this helps
thanks again for your reple heare from ya soon cheers

Re: hello all
well from what it looks like you bricked the lite-on drive, meaning it's no good anymore. you need a connectivity in order to do a lite-on drive. the drive information is read through the com port so that explains why you didn't get all 4 bins.
connectivity kit
as for the hitachi drive that won't just play games if you put it in another 360. you need to see if you can restore it, (only if it was flashed before) get the key and then spoof the information into the lite-on console which you can't do without the lite-on bins. . .
so techincally what you're attempting to do will not work.
you always need the key whenever you're flashing a drive. i'm not sure what you were reading on these forums but when you saw that you didn't have all four bins for the lite-on you should have not continued.
now, you can try to save the hitachi drive and just have it as a spare for when you get another 360, just follow this tutorial.

Re: hello all

yup i belive the lite on is wrecked but can still use it as a dvd player lol
i dont know if the hitachi drive has been hacked all i no is it is in the same state as the liteon only plays dvd movies but ive been messing about with it and manage to get the pc to detect the hitachi in 360 extractor reader got it into mode b and i tried to follow the cofree video earlier on but i got an error dont know wot to do now
i think i have got the key inquiry identify and dummy bin from the hitachi and got all the iextreme files i tried to restore to original state on jungle flasher but it says it culdnt do it

Re: hello all
hitachi drives don't give you four bins and once again you can't put the hitachi drive into the lite-on console without the information from the lite-on drive. . .
can't emphasize how much you should research these things thoroughly before you attempt to flash em because the words alone that you're using shows that you might be confused on a few things. . . follow the tutorial.
what step are you actually taking step by step?

Hey-0 there...firstly as members of this site we try to help each other and this topic started out as " hello all" in the future please start a new thread with the topic heading that we are talking about in it. You are not getting as much help this way in an old thread as you would a new one with a better title...but welcome again and enjoy the support of your bretheren. Glad to have you here.
But to answer you question
You cannot just open up two boxes and switch drives, they will not work that way.
Hope this helps.
But to answer you question
Yes, unless you spoof that drive with the key from the box your trying to put it in...and if I am correct you have not been able to do that...am I correct with that?hi again this is what has happened when i followed the tutorial on cofree does this mean its flashed with the ix151-47 and can only work in the original xbox that the hitachi drive came out of

You are correct, it looks like a good flash and it should work in the console it did come from originally....best of luck on the cables.
No probs on the post thing...we know your new and most welcome here. If you haven't already you should check out the forum as there is a wealth of info there. Pretty cool reads. And yes your more than welcome to ask a question that has already been answered previously...no worries here.
