Flashed lite-on drive
Flashed lite-on drive
Hi
I used this tutorial(http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/liteon_windows.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)I had problems erasing the drive but after messing around a bit I got it to erase. Then flashed the drive which was stated as successful, put the console back together and turned it on.Put in an original game disk, the console read it & a message came up (if you want to play this disk put it in an xbox 360 console)Another thing was when the disk was in the console,it didn't show the game title, just DVD.Is there something I forgot somewhere.Has anyone ele had this happen & how can it be fixed
Thanks

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
You will have to load your dummy.bin file and check the key to make sure it's valid. If it is, try re-flashing the drive and see if that helps.

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
I figured out where i went wrong & went to reflash but when i rebooted my comp. all my programs, dvd rom data was gone.I have the identify.bin,inquary.bin but i am missing key.did system restore but no luck.If i took a dvd rom out of another xbox 360 would that work
Re: Flashed lite-on drive
sorry to say, but it won't. You need that key.bin file. If you have the dummy.bin file, your key will be in there. If you don't have the key.bin or the dummy.bin, you're not going to be able to fix it. Unless you got the key somewhere. They key is why you can't just take a drive out of another 360 and put in yours. You have to put the key from that drive into the replacement drives firmware and if it's not the same kind of drive, spoof it to where it reports as that drive and then flash it for it to work.

D708CG833907010F0 does this look like the key was found in dummy file.I changed some numbers to post.If it is how do I fix the drive
Re: Flashed lite-on drive
as long as that was the key from the dummy.bin
then yes that key looks like it would be fine.
it is missing some letters and/or numbers
but yea you maybe able to save the drive.

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
The key should be 32 characters in length. If it is, you should be good. In jungleflasher, load that dummy.bin as your target. Open the ixtreme firmware for lite-on as the target. Click spoof source to target. The save the custom firmware. Once you have it saved, go to the MTKFlash32 tab, make sure the drive is on and already in half closed status. Then do the erase, and finally the flash. If everything went well, you should be done.

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
Wasn't the key.Is there any way to access 360 bios to find key.Or any apps or am I just SOOL.
Re: Flashed lite-on drive
if you dont have the orig key file from the dump
or the key from the dummy.bin
then no
there is no way to recover that drive or console.
sorry

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
I gonna have to say no here.....as the alternatives are way out there, but if you want them here they are....davewill wrote:Is there any way to access 360 bios to find key.
method one as told to me by Technoe
1. you would need your box to not have the HDMI port and you would also not have the NXE update done previously...if that is the case you can get the infectus chip and get down to some mad programing/soldering/reading/learning.
Random reading on this one....
2. I understand that there is a way to rebuild the lite-on key using the various numbers scatered around your dvd drive and somehow come up with the key.....I don't know anymore that this about this method than that....maybe someone else has some guidance on this subject.
But to sum it up without superhuman effort and a little luck your box is done for... sorry.

no wayShootsteel wrote:I understand that there is a way to rebuild the lite-on key using the various numbers scatered around your dvd drive and somehow come up with the key.....
not even a little
what you do when you are getting that info you are talking about, is getting missing "serial information"
that by no means is the key.
you drive and console will work without that ser info(i have 2) but
a drive missing that info will not be 100% live safe (i let you guys know if anything happens

if a drive dont have its key it will not play any games
all it will do is play movies

OK, See! I don't know what I am saying...don't try thatno way
not even a little

Thanks for the clarification on that one as what I did read about that is it is possible to do it. I never tried it, prob never will as it seems WAY too involved for me to try and now that I have confirmation I know I won't try.
Thank you Cofree

Re: Flashed lite-on drive
Think about it in the positive light though....you have some prime parts to mess around with!!!!!davewill wrote:Thanks guys

A lot of cool mods to try out with the donor machine.
Case cutting
case painting
ring of light changing
extra parts galore
12volt fan mod "if you don't like the sound use the other"
I am sure the list goes on and on.... Anyone?.....It's a good thing.
