How often to update your FW and q about wave of games?

I'm anxiously waiting for Iextreme 1.6 to flash my benq. How often does new FW come out. I'm hoping this FW will last for a while. Also Sad said I'd have to flash w/ MS comes out w/ new security and new waves of games. What are new waves of games. Some of the new games have new security?

The frequency of how often new firmware comes out, on average is about 3 to 4 times per year. Maybe more. I haven't really kept up with it, but it's alot. The "wave" is referred to everytime they change something about how game disks are made. The most recent change was the addition of the NXE update to the video partition of the game disk. This caused ixtreme to not boot those games and had to be update to recognize those types of games.

This type of thing is like playing cat and mouse. MS makes a move, then the hackers counter.
