the disc is unplayable error

i have a strange 1 guys if anyone can help my xbox keeps giving me this error so i swaped out the boards in two different drives but still no joy same error it will let me play a game for a min or two then gives the error none of the drives have been flashed the drives are hitachi

so this is a stock dvd drive
with a orig game disc.
if you have moved the pcb board to a different drive just to check the laser
and
it does the same thing
then the only thing left is the disc is bad.

I get it sometime mate, Its the discs im sure. Usually get it when trying to install the game to HD. Try using a different burner, I use Cookies 360 burner mostly but got that unreadable the other day and done it with Image burn and it installed ok.

Make sure nothings running on the PC, like anything that eats the processor. But im sure its the discs coz I use cheap ones, They called E Discs 10 quid for 10 and I usually get about 3 out of the 10 that mess up. Your best bet like ive just done is get a 120 HD and install them, That way your saving the drive and once the game has read in the drive it dont need the disc anymore so you wont get the unreadable message, and it will run smoother. Ive just paid 80 quid for the HD and you get a transfer kit with it aswell. Well worth it tho.

just a stock dvd drive not playing orig games.

it cant be but a few things.
disc,drive or the whole console i guess(never heard of that)

i know god dang bill gates 4 making peice,s of crap in a white box lol iv had three different drive,s in it now and still the same im starting to think could it be a bad firmware or iv read else,were that its a sign its gona red ring soon ?????????????

well if you have changed dvd drives around
you have to do that right or it wont work.
you cant just change the dvd drive
the key in the firmware will not match and the console will not boot any games.

if you changed the pcb board out of all the drive and put the orig pcb board in those replacement drive then you would think you had at least one drive there that would work.

i changed the pcb ye i would have thought one would be good and thats whats making me think its a bad firmware what the safest way of flashing these hitachi,s im not mad on jf iv had probs with it in the past

Ya know something I done mine to 1.6 yesterday and ive yet to even try an original, All me backups work. Im gonna try now. Hope its ok.

bit of an update iv flashed the drive with iextreme 1.51 and its still giving me the same error im lost on this now was praying a flash would sort it out

Why you flash with 1.51 when 1.6 is the latest ?

My orig do work so all good, Im still havin g probs with installing games though, Most time it plays fine on disc, The odd stuttering here and there when loading but when I try and install it goes quite slow and it gets to about 30% done and it pops up saying disc is unreadable. Anyone have any ideas. Im thinking its the discs but Im using the same ones that worked ok before. And as I said its playing on disc so why wont they install. Sometimes they will.
