dvd drive sata lead, stupid mistake

Post by trance »

hi all, after flashing my benq to 1.6 , i tested the 360. i put my game in but nothing happened soon i realised that the sata lead was not in the dvd drive :o
i have heard numerous rumours regarding this, like the xbox 360 keeps a log of when the lead is not connected,
has anyone actually been banned from this , should i expect the ban hammer some time soon. i have never used a downloaded game all my games are original back-ups . this will make it hard to take if i do get banned

thanks

I think you'll be ok. There are numerous people that use the 360 to power their drives when flashing them and there are plenty of them surviving the ban hammer.

i hope your right. i was getting worried over such a minor mistake, it would be a really silly thing to get banned over.

Also, bans are usually done in waves, and there hasn't been one for a while. It's also a difficult criteria to suggest when people's DVD-ROMs can die of natural causes. ;)

Exactly! What if your console was repaired, or if the cable wasn't attached properly from factory? Even if you would replace the DVD drive yourself (if your old one broke) it shouldn't be a reason to be banned, just a broken warranty at worst.
