Well basically I was going to flash a lite-on with my laptop using iPrep 009. I made my bootable flash and loaded the litcfw.bin onto it, made it bootable, included batch files and put it into FAT format. It made the drive, then I rebooted my laptop. I booted my laptop off of the usb drive.
I turned on the lite-on and connected it to the laptop via my PCMCIA VIA 6421A SATA CARD which was connected to my PCMCIA - Express card 34/54 adapter. I also connected it to my connectivity kit which was connected to my laptop via USB and was being powered via molex by an external PSU .
Anywho, I connected everything and typed dLit 1234567 12345 (actual serial number was typed). It told me to eject the drive, turn it off, push it in half way, turn it on and then hit enter to try geremias key method. I tried it and it didn't work. It then gave me a red C:/ which I typed 'dosflash' in. That gave me a list of devices where the lite-on was recognized at #7 as PLDS and then it told me if I would like to resend the command until it worked and to turn the drive off and on after i hit 'Y'.
I entered 'Y' and the status code was 0xD1. Then when I cycled the drive it would from 0xD1 to 0xD2 and finally to 0x52. And I could never get it to 0x72. No matter what I did. I tried re-doing geremias method while having my probe on the R707 point to see if it made a difference, nothing. I tried having the drive all the way closed and all the way open while trying to send it into vendor mode with dosflash, and nothing.
When I saw iPrep wasn't working I tried in Jungle Flasher, the lite-on was still recognized in my laptop but I still couldn't send it into vendor mode using the MTK FLASH32 tab and Intro/Device ID. It would tell me after you hit yes power cycle drive within 1 second (which is when the little dots came up) I did and still nothing. I really don't know. Could this lite-on be impossible to flash ?
So I really don't know what to do. I'd appreciate it if somebody could help me figure out how I can send this drive into vendor mode.
**Note I am able to flash Sammys / BenQ's fine using iPrep on my laptop**
Unable to get Lite-on into vendor mode using iPrep+Laptop
Re: Unable to get Lite-on into vendor mode using iPrep+Laptop
well iprep
is not going to work on a lite-on because you have to have a 9 pin com cable hooked up for the key and other files to dump with
jungle flasher will work with a com cable or a usb but
you have to have one or the other for it to dump the files (the first time)
after you have a ixtreme v1.5 hacked firmware on it
you can then dump ixtreme in jungle and it will dump through the sata cable
againg man
no one here has messed with a laptop doing this stuff
so support will be limited
we will look into it a little more as soon as we have some time.

Re: Unable to get Lite-on into vendor mode using iPrep+Laptop
I tried dumping the key with JungleFlasher but it still wouldn't send the vendor intro. Even though I had the lite on connected to my connectivity kit which was connected to my laptop via USB and it was my COM4.
