Overheating even before x-clamp fix??

Hi all

I have had some great results and help from this forum so here i go with another problem with a 2007 HDMI 360

Heres the coo -It instantly overheats even though its got the new heatsinc over the CPU and the extra heatsinc coming from the GPU........Im thinking that either the heatsinc is not touching the DIE on the chip proplerly or the cheap shit thermal paste is the problem......

It belongs to a friend so i am weary about what steps to take......the last thing i need is to RRoD it!!...

Any help would be greatly appriciated

i say send it back to microsoft, it should still be under warranty and if you broke the warranty seal just purchase one off of ebay and you should be good to go. . .
