I just got a new 360 for xmass and i was told by a guy at the store to buy a extra external fan.Is this nessesary?

Ha ha. Wow it sounds like to me that they are trying to get a sale. If this was back in the day with the 1st gen 360 maybe, but not now. I have actually known some people that have had the External super cooler or what ever is called and they still managed to get the RROD. It is always good to take some advice from people at stores, but to my experience they don't know smack. LOL... I just though I add this for Extra support.

sounds like they was trying to get a sale, If you xbox360s going to rrod then it's going to rrod I doubt a little fan or extra cooling would help much.

Generally though the newer ones based on the new motherboard are supposed to be more reliable an run cooler. , I have one on the old motherboard thats still running fine.
