hitachi 46 playback issues

hello i have sucessfully flashed my xbox drive
the drive plays originals without any hiccups
i'veverified the backup using abgx360 and burnt it using VERBATIM
when i place the backup into the drive start to spin up but then i hear a slight clicking noise
and it fails to boot

More than likely a dirty/weak laser. Does it play ALL backups very well? Or have you noticed it will give you dirty disk or open tray errors?

I have a 47 drive flashed with 1.51 and its touchy, it only plays some of my backups, and not others. While my other drives will play all of them.

i have tried a laser cleaning disk but that didnt work
it is a i think a very old console i am gonna try some me digging around to see if i can figure out the problem
or i might just replace the drive with a new one, hopefully there is a tutorial here on how to do that

Replacing is called 'spoofing' and it is very easy to do. There are lots of guides on this forum for it.

Just to let you know, the laser cleaning disk's hardly ever work, and I believe I read something about for a 360, you need some special xbox 360 cleaning disk.

Its best to open the drive, and try cleaning the laser or pot tweaking.

it works now
it was just a dirty laser
cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol and now it works
