flashed it and pot tweaked it

i flashed my hitachi 78 drive using firmware tool box 4.7 it said it was a sucess. it played my original games fine but says play dvd when i put a backup in. i did the pot tweak still same thing . but i notice using firmware tool box 4.7 the only latest firmware it had was ixtreme 1.4 could this be the problem its scary cause you have to wonder was the flash really a sucess the backups play in my flashed m28 could someone please help me. thanks.

Depends on what games your trying to play in your hitachi. 3rd wave games won't play on 1.4. You would need 1.51 which is a separate download. Don't know if you've tried jungleflasher, but it works pretty good on most systems for hitachi's.

ok i tried jungle flasher but it wont flash for some reason after getting it into mode b and hit ixtreme to flash it takes me back to firmware tool 32 and says i already have this file when i save ofw to the file i want to save it in. so thats why i tried to just flash it with the 4.7 at least it did flash while doing the procedure. hell jungle flasher tells me i already have this file on everything i try to do and shoots me right back to firmware tool 32 i dont know. it dont automatically load the ixtreme 1.51 for me in junglefasher i dont know how do you get the firmware in jungle flasher cause when i look at the firmware here in jf its already there. so why and how do i put it there if its not.

If it tells you that and there is no OFW in the folder, then something is wrong somewhere. I would try it on a different computer if at all possible.

i have a via controller card in my pc that i flashed my m28 with do i need to uninstall my drivers or enable them could that be the problem. no its showing the ofw in the file but it ask me even when i hit f/firmware where i want to save it and i hit the file i created it says file already there do i want to replace it. i click save it shoots me to the firmware tool 32 screen i followed cofree video and hell nothing is going like his vid i dont know going to keep trying is there any other way to flash it.

Try restoring the drive and see if that works. If it will restore, then you should be able to flash it with 1.51. If not, you may have to resort to using firmware toolbox. Let me know how this goes and if it doesn't work, I'll give you FW Toolbox instruction.
