Foundmy releases Liteon 83850c Rey Retrieval Service
Found this on Foundmy.com website:
The Foundmy DVDKey83 Retrieval Service enables you to retrieve your drive key from your Liteon 83850c drive.
This will allow you to facilitate a replacement drive in case your original drive fails.
This is done without any hardware tools or modification just a simple 360 Power Unit or Connectivity Kit
Our service will, after collecting some initial data from your dvd drive and combining it with already known data, calculate the key for your drive.
There are a few easy steps you have to do to get your key:
If using Windows

2 - Download and and unpack Lo83info_32.exe -Click Here
3 - Connect your Liteon 83850c drive to your PC via SATA
4 - Run Lo83info_32.exe (sata port) and follow the prompts
5 - A file will be saved with a drive unique name as a .bin
6 - After purchasing this service, you will get an email requesting this file.
If using Dos -

If you do alot of repairs and require the ability for larger quantity of this service, do contact us for larger quantity pricing!
Interestingly enough, I read a post this morning where a member of Team hyperx said that a version of ixtreme will be released shortly, but a free method of decrypting your key will not be released because of legal reasons. With foundmy charging $42 US dollars per decrypt, things may get very interesting in the x-360 modding scene very shortly.

Re: Foundmy releases Liteon 83850c Rey Retrieval Service
This was the post made:
They do not say whats illegal about it except for the part about breaking the encryption on the key.Of course there will be a free ixtreme.
That does NOT mean that the team will figure out a way to decrypt the key data. We've obviously already looked at the method, and its nothing new. The key data is encrypted. The exe just dumps that info. Yes it appears to be a slightly altered dvdkey32 ....*shrugs* ....why do double work?
The problem is the encryption. Even if we defeat the crypt we cannot release the algo to the public. That would be incredibly illegal.
foundmy has come up with a solution to what was the main thing holding the release of ixtreme back. The firmware has already been in the works and we've had solutions to read/write firmware. However that is not the same as read/write key data!
The crypt used on these drives are NOT simple. If we found a way to decrypt the key data this moment, you would still never see it released to public. Its simply very illegal.
So I hate to break it to everyone, but its looking like this will be the only solution.
While I agree $42 is abit steep....its a very small price to pay for the modification of what is previously a unmodifiable drive. And for those of you modding for others? Its not coming out of your pocket, so stop complaining. Infact, everyone should stop complaining period. If someone has spent hard work to figure out something then they should be rewarded for it.
Who knows, maybe HyperX will get with MS to sue foundmy? lol j/k

Re: Foundmy releases Liteon 83850c Rey Retrieval Service
if foundmy.com found a way to "calculate the key " then its only a matter of a week or two that the collective community will come up with a solution. Microsoft has spent so much money trying to keep these xboxes unhackable and they are a billion dollar company. have faith in the community we will hack this in a week or two tops.i will never buy anything from foundmy.com again. you know 42 dollars is a number they just pulled out of then air. Need to get a couple bin files and then the keys and find whatever pattern or decryption they have in common.

Re: Foundmy releases Liteon 83850c Rey Retrieval Service
Does this mean when someone does figure it out in a few weeks will I be able to flash my Liteon without the CK3 and Probe ? It dont matter like as Im happy just to buy the CK3 kit they only like 25 quid for the Lite bundle. You would think someone would of figured out how to read a Liteon with Iprep without the need of any other kit, Just like the Benq. That would be a dream.

Re: Foundmy releases Liteon 83850c Rey Retrieval Service
to answer that would be pure speculation. i don't think you will need the ck3 probe because of the current way the key is being extracted and calculated but whatever free way is revealed will surely triumph over the 42 dollar way. you can still get the older consoles.
depends what system you buy. if your buying the arcade you have good chances of getting it, with the pro slimmer chances and with the elite not so good chances. also depends on the store and how fast they sell them. look inside the box at the serial number and move the xbox around a little to see if it has a june 2009 on it. try to find something older. Kmart in my area has no business at all and you can still get the the older light ons and even a benq with the elites. even the target by my house has benq in the elites.

There may be good news on the horizon, and trust me, I'm doing everything in my power to find out more information. A new team claims to have found a way to decrypt the key and has said they are going to release a tool set to allow users to get their key free of charge.
I will let you guys know more as I find out.
