Just upgrading from lite to pro.

Hey guys, ive recently ordered a CK3 Pro because ive had it with the Ck3 Lite, the Com cable has broken so i though USB would be much easier and ive got the extra bit of money for the Pro, just wondering do i need to install anything on my PC for the USB port on the CK3 Pro to work, like drivers or something? Also what type of COM cable would i need for the CK3 Pro, is it male to female or female to female, ill get a COM cable aswell just incase Jungle Flasher decides to give me problems with a lite on drive lol.

Most people that I've talked with don't install the drivers but it's something that I've always done.

i tryed to do it without the drivers but it never worked for me. Installed it and has worked since

I haven't installed the drivers and use the RS232.

Quick question though is there really a difference(not to be taken as a smart a$$)?

Thanks man, no theres no difference but i would prefer to use USB because i can use the ports at the front of my tower which is much easier than using the COM port at the back. Thanks again man.

I thought the Lite version was for people who used Iprep, well obviously I know or presume you can use the Lite with either JF or Iprep, I use Iprep and dont think I would ever use JF so is it correct I will need or be better off getting Lite CK3 as I was told I get the serial cable with it ?

well i would get the pro
you just never know what will happen

having a usb port
could come in very handy.

Yeah and you can use the pro in iprep aswell, but you need to buy a serial cable for it as it doesnt come with the pro version. Thanks again guys.

Yeah it's worth investing in the pro, need to upgrade from a lite myself as i've just swapped pc's and no comport on the new one (then again i'm tight so i might just make an old pc up from parts i've got kicking about). The rs232 cable you need if you needed to use dos is male to female but make sure its not a null modem one which has the wires swapped.

I was actually advised on getting the Lite as you get the cable with it, as I use Iprep and apparantly you carnt use a USB with it. I would rather have the pro one it just means buying the cable seperatly, Ive noticed on CK3.co.uk they are quite good with requests for bundles and stuff so maybee they will throw in a lead for a bit extra eh ?

Ive got a com cable coming tomorow so if i get stuck in jungle flasher for some reason then i can easily use iprep.

I prefer iprep, especially for lite ons. its more reliable. i have the lite.

Yeah Id prefer to use iprep aswell, JF wont work for me and Im familiar with Iprep now, So is it better for me to get the lite version if Im 100% using iprep, Would it be worth me getting the Pro and order a lead seperatly, Ive not come across the leads where would I get one from ?
