if all your doing is flashing a benq drive then really a ck3lite isnt needed.but if you flashing a few drives(liteons especially)then you need the ck3lite or pro

That's great to hear, but I heard somewhere that using the 360 to power the drive while flashing can give you a higher chance of being banned.

If this is a false statement let me know. I would rather not have to pay for something I don't need.

nobody really knows but I dont see how you would get banned by using the xbox power to flash your drive

I did it the first time I flashed and I am still playing on that xbox

but then I started flashing my friends drives for profit. that is when I bought a ck3 pro

So my advice is that if you are only going to flash one or two drives you should not buy a ck3

I do have another 360 in my house that will be used only for originals and XBL. So even if I did get banned on the flashed it wouldn't have been such a big deal.

Well I will order the Via 6421 and the disassembly kit as soon as I can

edit: Scratch that, I won't get the disassembly kit, I'll just get a Torx 10 (I believe) and I have tiny screwdrivers everywhere in my house, so I'll use that for the case opening.

Yea, dont use the opening tool, its stupid. I can open a box faster without the tool.

I can say that I first done my Benq about 6 month ago and have had to do it about 5 times since due to updated iextremes and stuff, and replacing a broken drive Ive always used the 360 power lead, Im currently about to invest in a CK3 as they only 22 quid with the probe as I now have a liteon too so rather than being stuck if your 360 breaks and you end up with another drive, Having the CK3 you will never be stuck to flash any model. But yeah I done mine 6 month ago the first time and mine is all good, I think for the very few unfortunate ones have been banned just by chance but alot of people will be because they have been stupid playing games too early and stuff, Take all the proper precautions and you should be good. The other day on xbox live I was told to never mod my 360 with a whisper fan and use the drive power as MS apparantly know you are using mods somehow, Something to do with powering the fans/mods with the drive power, The guy who I was talking to had just been banned and said he got the red lights the same day, Then after googling it he said he found it was coz he used the drive power, I said the fan I looked at needed a 5v power splitter, I asked him what V his was and he said 12v, I thought no wonder using a 12v. I dont know how true it is but if anyone knows anything id be intrested to know as Im wanting fans for my 360.
