Spoofing the new Lite-on 83850c into hitachi

Post by Shootsteel »

Just a FYI for everyone.....was messing about with spoofing the new lite-on into everything and all is well except when you spoof into a Hitachi (the one I used was a 79c) the spoof went fine and the drive works properly in the system....now when you hook it back up to JF to dump it JF does not see it as a Hitachi anymore(it sees the drive as a LITEon)...therefore I cannot do anything more with the drive. I assume that I could de-solder the chip wipe it clean and start over but I am not that interested.

Spoofing worked fine for Sam 25 and 28 as well as the Benq...I guess you can say it worked OK for the hit as it does work but can no longer be seen by the current rendition of JF....maybe Team Jungle will work that out and one day this hit will have a new life.

I would think this would be an easy fix, with an updated JF. But I also haven't had the opportunity to mess with it as of yet.
