Replace a Liteon with Hitachi?
Is it possible to put a hitachi drive into a system that has a Liteon? If so what's all involed in it and is there any difference when I would go to flash the hitachi?

Well the hitachi is kind of a pain to spoof.
You need to flash the keys, then flash ixtreme, then flash the spoof data.
Here is a video tut for doing it...

Its an absolute beginners guide, so you only need to watch from about the middle of part 3 to the end of part 4.

As above but they're the trickiest of all drives plus if theres any mistakes it'll result in a non-recoverable drive so if you decide to go ahead double check all the steps before proceeding. Fingers crossed and good luck.

Yea I hear the Hitachi drives aren't very good. You might want to look into buying a new Samsung or BenQ rather than fussing with the Hitachi

As long as he has a good setup it'll be fine. Its just like flashing the FW in 3 stepsCOEBRA wrote:Yea I hear the Hitachi drives aren't very good. You might want to look into buying a new Samsung or BenQ rather than fussing with the Hitachi

I'll give it a go. I've only flashed hitachis so far. No problems yet.

Then you should be fine here. If you have a setup that works fine, you will be able to flash the drive perfectly.
Setups that do not work very well, and are kind of hit and miss with flashing drives will not work if you try this. (As you are basically flashing it 3 times, thus tripling your chance for error)
