errors with burning

Post by Zombie14 »

alright well im new to backing up my orginal games. i have read all the tutorials and i thought that i was doing everything right but im not. i have the SH-D162C and have the Kreon firmware, newsest verion, for reading the orignal games and have the Pioneer DVR-110D for writing them. what i have been doing is using XBC 2.7 to rip them, following the tutorial to a T but some where along the way after ripping them something goes wrong. afte the rip i check the stealth then i have tried to write them in Imgburn and tried with XBC aswell but i keep getting an error at ether 49% or 47% then the disc finallizes and says write failed.im lost trying to figure this out and keep wasting the DL's is killing my pocket. any help is greatly appreciated. i saved the two error messages in word so i hope this hel

i cant seem to get the doc to open.

i would try a different iso.
you are burning the dvd file right.
if you dont you need to set your layer break yourself

when you dump a game with xbc and your sh-d162c drive it should make 2 files a iso and a dvd file.
when you open imgburn input the dvd file to burn
look over this. just start at #4

thanks a ton Cofree, so far i have gotten two games to back up. what i ended up doing was ripping them in XBC after unlocking them, then ran the check scan in mulleter, then in mulleter clicked make .dvd file and named in the game title with a 2 after it so i knew that, that was the second .dvd file, then in imgburn pulled up the new .dvd file and burned at 2.4 with the optimal layer break selected. it seems to be working, now everytime i see imgburn get close to 49% i freak out and pray that it will work. lol does that sound like what i was suppose to do? thx again. i hope this helps others.

i spoke to soon, skate didnt work, could it be that im usin memorex dl's (couldnt find Verb's). it almost seems as if there is a problem when it changes layers or something. the error says something about not being able to read sectors.im going to try to figure out how i can post the screen shots.

Seems to be either media, LB or your burner...

Layer Break (on all games) is 1913760, you can set it in Imgburn and XBC without using the .dvd, but I always do just to be sure.

Media could be an issue, make sure you are burning at x2 or x2.5

Does anyone know if the 110d automatically sets booktype?? If not, you need to make sure booktype is DVD-ROM for DL's. Most new burners do this straight out of the box, but I would check your drive with DVDInfo to make sure it can. If it doesn't at the mo, you need to update your burner's firmware...

After that I don't know, try a defrag (especially if you're burning from a laptop, I had a few coasters 'cos of this).

man when you dump with xbc it makes the dvd file you should not have to make it your self.
how about this just forget the dvd file right now.set up img burn just like this guide.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=117
Then burn the big iso game file.
Are you sure that your burner will burn DL disc :?: This disc you are using are DL disc right.

look over this guide for dumping.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=113

this is just not that hard you are just missing something.we will get it
I dont think the kind of disc matter at this point.i would use cheap disc until we get it burning all the way. Then you will need to use good disc to play the game on.

Dont worry about the booktype right now.the first thing.we have to get it burning all the way through

This is what I do.

1. Rip with XBCr. (You get iso and a dvd file)
2. Run stealth check and kreon checker. If kreon checker gives a bad rip, re-rip till I get it right.
3. I burn with XBCr, but it's just as easy to burn with imgburn. Just point it to the dvd file that was created when you ripped it with XBCr and away it goes.

ok gears didnt work, with just rippin it and burning and dvd file, after i did auto fix it backed up fine and plays fine. my guess is that its ether a ripping issue or media one. maybe my drive rips bad and has to be autofixed. im open for any suggestions tho. i would say it works about 65% of the time, so any help is greatly appreciated. also i was wondering if it matters if the verbs are made in singapore or india? im almost out of the memorex ones and want to buy the good ones and hope that will solve the problem. thanks again

hmmm, so when you rip your game and run it through a stealth check, does it pass?? Does it pass a kreon check as well? Then when you run it through mulleter's autofix, what is it fixing? If you have to run a rip and autofix it everytime, then yes, something is wrong somewhere. You don't have something like anydvd or other dvd ripping software running in the background do you? If so, this can cause problems while ripping and I would suggest trying to rip without this software running and then see if mulleter has anything to autofix.

I've heard that the verbatims made in one country as opposed to the other are better than the other. I can't remember which one is which though. I have a stack of the ones that are supposed to be not as good, but I haven't started using them yet. CoFree knows which ones they are and I think can comment on their quality as well.
