Liteon does not enter mode b
Liteon does not enter mode b
I finally got my ck3 pro and I'm trying to do the flash, but my drive doesn't enter mode b or jungle flasher isn't seeing it. The blue light only comes on if I have the button down, but that doesn't help and my understanding is that's only for hitachi. I've tried ejecting the tray with the ck3 and manually, but it makes no difference. I've tried bridging r707 while polling the port, but it makes no difference. I've tried all of the connectors on the card accept one, but it doesn't make a difference. What am I doing wrong? Something on when it should be off? Connected when it shouldn't be? Please help.

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
The blue light is what you want to see not the red on for mode b......mode b is not used for the lite on....and quite frankly the red lite mode b on the ck3 is not used for anything anymore in my shop as mode b is achieved through JFtrailz wrote:The blue light only comes on if I have the button down

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
I've got the drive to appear using the most difficult to reach port, but when I try to get the key, it always says the serial data is bad. I don't know if my probe isn't making contact or if the tray is in the wrong position.

Break it down a little more. Are you using a RS232 cable or USB? Make sure that the green light on the probe is completely solid while attempting to pull the key.

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
are you getting a good key
that is the most important part
you want good ser data but
you HAVE to have a good key dump

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
No, I'm not getting any key. When I click DVDKey32 in JF, it says "Sending DVDKey request to I/O port.... ......." and then "......Serial data is bad" I'm using a multimeter probe spliced into the ck3 as the probe and a USB cable to connect to the ck3. I don't have a serial cable.

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
well you should be able to go on and skip that ser data part and go to the getting key
i would just dump the drive dont flash
till you have all the bugs worked out

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
But I don't get any files I can use.
Once the box saying the serial data is bad comes up, DVDKey files extraction aborts. I have nothing to work with.

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
I don't get it, I can't get anything off this drive. It says its a 7485, but it also has the A0A2 on it, but I thought the only thing that made a difference was the firmware version.... *sigh* I'll look around for a serial cable and try this with iPrep, I guess....

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
Silly question, do you have the usb drivers installed for the ck3?

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
Yes, I have the latest version of the CK3 USB drivers, 1.2.4 I think at this point. I have never heard anything about version conflicts affecting the flashing..... I can't get the key or anything with the ck3 tool either.rkd2398 wrote:Silly question, do you have the usb drivers installed for the ck3?
I took the system update that came out in August on this console.... could that have done something to my drive?
Edit 9/14: Adding
Still can't read anything off this drive but zeroes. The r707 hole looks like it should have plenty of that green stuff scraped off. I tested my makeshift probe with a multimeter and get excellent continuity through the cable and through the needle. I also hooked the multimeter in between my drive and my probe as an ammeter, but I don't see any current... Is it true that reading 000000s is a sign the tray is not in the correct position? I haven't seen anyone actually measure it so I assume it's pretty generous. I also tried a few earlier versions of JF....
Is it possible this is a 83850c masquerading as a 73850c....? :-/

Re: Liteon does not enter mode b
has your make shift probe been used to pull any other key from another drive? It very well could be the probe. As far as the drive half open, I always go half way and then a little more so more than a quarter but less than half.
