Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
ok i have a samsung ms25 drive
I tried to mod my samsung ms25 drive (which had not been previously modded) but when i try to do it i get the backup\seralnumber\orig.bin doesnt exist and then sam tool aborts. Now from what i had used this 0800.iso to get passed some firmware guard protection, so i did that
then i thought that i had somehow modded my 360 wrong but i found out that when running the iprep it was only detecting 2 drives (which are the two i already have) and was not finding the 360's drive.I have looked at the guide and tried the 0800 disk as i thought the problem was the orig.bat file but then relised that tis wasnt there as i was trying to mod one of my pc's drive. so basicly my problem was then is that iprep wouldnt pick up my drive at all,
so then.....*big breath*...i used a different pc (my brothers dell) and it seemed to work grand everything went according to the guide but when i tried to test it i got the e64 error screen so i looked at the forums and i saw it was advised to restore the orig.bat file using the 0800 disk which i tried but when i press the open button on my xbox it wont work it will not respond at all it just brings me to the dashboard and says that it is opening if i hit the button again it says closing or reading but the cd drive never moves.
so does this mean that my 360 is "bad word" or bricked? also if i had flashed a hitachi on my pc using onboard sata chipset then does that mean that all the drives would be detected by my motherboard?

Re: Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
you have to have a via6421 chipset to flash the samsung drives.
http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm
im not sure what you are doing with the 0800 on a v25 drive there is no firmguard on this drive till after you flash it the first time.
then all you do is use the 10 sec trick to get back in the drive.
at this point if you have a copy of you orig firmware or at least the key you need to do a restore on the drive.
go by this guide.if you have the firmware.just like the guide says.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=196
if you dont have your firmware /key you have a dvd player sorry
if all you have is the key there is more to it.
let us know.

No. Your onboard sata is probably your problem. I would get the sata card that cofree recommended and go that route. Hitachi drives are completely different that the benq or sammy drive when it comes to detection. Hitachi drives don't need a particular chipset.Ricochet69 wrote:also if i had flashed a hitachi on my pc using onboard sata chipset then does that mean that all the drives would be detected by my motherboard?

ok so after i did this i replaced my with a hitachi drive i flashed it and followed textbooks guide of swapping the drives but i still got the e64 error the drive will open but thats it. i also lost the original firmware and the key, but do have the fw and key of the hitachi after i flashed and spoofed the drive so is that key the original key for the sammy? sorry bout this i know tis complicated
Re: Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
im having a hard time keeping up with what you are asking.
you must have the key from the orig dvd drive that was in the 360.
if you dont and there is a bad flash on the sam dvd drive now
its over then sorry.
you need the key to put in your new dvd drive .it dont matter what kind you are going to put in the 360.
it MUST have the original key in the firmware.

Re: Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
Keys with all F's are not valid. If the original dump had all f's then thats it, game over.
I really hate when things happen like this. This is exactly why everyone should check their dumps directly after reading it out. If you get all F's or 0's or just alot of one certain character, re-dump till you get a valid key. A valid key will appear as a bunch or random characters and numbers, not all F's or 0's and the likes.

Re: Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
i did flash the 360 but why is the tray not opening? i thought that if i bricked it that if i tried to unbrick it then it might work again or that i could hook it up to my pc again and try and reflash it or try some other method of extracting the fw from it. Even is there some way using the fw that has the f's in it (which it says when loaded on fwtoolbox that it is frm a samsung flashed with ixtream 1.2) and exstracting info so i can put another drive in.
i really applicate all yere help and i must say the responses are way better here then 360mods (i used never be able to get a response so thats why i rushed the flashing and messed this up)

Not wanting to patronise, but if you're not sure of anything when you're doing this, then stop and wait til you can talk to someone who can...
Unfortunately, if the firmware that you've flashed to your drive contains a bad key (all F's or 0's) and you don't have a good copy of your key, then you have a very expensive DVD player.
The Drive Key is linked to the motherboard, so it is unique to every console. Without a certain Kernel version (which almost nobody has nowdays), the only way to obtain this key is with a firmware dump/read.
Wish there was something else you could do...

Re: Is my 360 bricked or completely gone
ok man
here it is.
if you dont have the key that was in your 360 dvd drive when it was new.its over if it a samsung or a benq 360 dvd drive.
if it was a hit 360 dvd drive when it was new then there is a chance that you could find someone to get the key off the chip with a programmer.there are not many that can and even less that will do it for you.
ok i looked over the post it says you have a v25 samsung dvd drive.
if you do the dump and the key is bad.its over.
there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
you can use the v25 dvd drive to backup games if it will work .flash in the 0800 firmware for the sam and use it to back up games.
but you are going to have to get a new 360 to play games orig or backups.
sorry
