Is this JF log ok? Benq Drive won't return into vendor mode

Post by phrozenice »

Below is the JF log of me having just updated my firmware to ixtreme 1.6. Everything seemed ok, I read, auto-loaded, then wrote back. Then I read again just to confirm that the drive now has 1.6, sent outro, and it just sat there looking at me blankly.
Since then, it won't go back into vendor mode. I'm using a HP dc5700 intel chipset, portio32 is installed and running.
Any thoughts?

This looks fine to me, have you tried the drive in your 360?

You dont need it in vendor mode unless you are reading/writing the drive. If you sent outro, try ejecting the drive if it opens and closes fine, your drive is good. Use it in your 360.

Thanks for you reply. The drive is fine, plays games and dvd's ok, even latest ones like batman etc. I was concerned because it wouldn't go back into vendor mode after the flashing operation. As in next time I want to flash lets say for ixtreme v.1.9 etc :D , will I have problems getting it into vendor mode? Is there something that ixtreme 1.6 or sending the outro command does to benq drives that I need to know?

Outro takes the drive out of vendor mode, you may need to just power cycle the drive, then get the tray to the half open position again for it to go back into vendor mode.
