Problem with Spoofing drives, 83850C to benq VAD6038

Post by melux »

Hi, since my 83850C went dead. i bought new VAD6038.
First thing that i noticed after installig it was that eject button wasnt working (just like with broken 83850c). well thats ok i can open it manually to go vendor mode.

Step1: ok then i got the dummy(key) from it and tryed to spoof it to 83850C with new key, done.
Step2: i tryed to spoof newly created firmware (benq that thinks its 83850C with new key) with BenQ_ixtreme1.6. and
Step3: and write command sended wich was successfull... after restarting xbox it was still flashing green light and jungleflasher is not even recognizing my benq drive anymore..
used Jungleflasher.

was my spoofing logic right first to make BENQ look like 83850C with new key and then spoof it with benq_xtreme?
Hopefully my english is enaugh :P

UPDATE: tryed to flash my benq back to original over dos with IPREP009 with no luck it wont even recognize my drive anymore.

Writing ended with error. "No atapi drives presents"
now i got 2 drives that are not recognized :P

is it possible that it has something to do with my sata ports? i mean i successfully flashed two other 360's with same computer + succesfully flashed that new benq drive (just died after flashing :()
even disconnect my sata HDD's and tested all sata ports without any luck, still strange if problem is with my sata...

Motherboard: Asus p5b, P965 chipsed wich has ICH8 sata ports?
Many thanks for your help.

What went wrong with the 83850c? Why are you trying to spoof?

xbox did shutdown, right when jungfleflasher was ereasing it, and i coulnt bring life back on it.. even with that Iprep009 method. so i decided to buy a new one.

Update: bought VIA VT6421 pci card. and no luck with it.. both drives liteon and benq are not responding.

that's strange liteon died @ erase process.. but with benq it did succesfully flash new ixtreme on it, and it just died right after i switched it back to xbox.

No, don't give up. Sometimes you have to do the command and power cycle the drive. Double check the com port your on.

Can you post up your jungle flasher log?

You flashed the BenQ with benq ixtreme right?

When you flashed the BenQ, did you:

1) Open drive half way
2) Send magic keys (BenQ unlock)
3) Read
4) Write
6) Outro

If you used the erase command at all, thats your problem (lots of people use the erase command on BenQ's for some reason)

tested it with another computer just to be sure... and still nothing, also power cycled with i-o-erase (didnt do that before).
it's possible i used erase command with benq, but it still wrote that new flash into it and died after that.

well i think ill order another benq and give another round with it... this time ill do more research about other flashing methods and jungleflasher just to be sure whats the safest way to flash it, also got VIA VT6421 this time so it should be all ok.

thanks for your help :)
