Need help :) VAD6038 - UPDATE

Post by joedub »

Long story short....My stock xbox drive got torched, did some research ordered a VAD6038 to replace the orig. Waiting on C3k kit to get the orig F/W off the stock (DG w/74850C). I received the new drive, went to put Ixtreme 1.5 on it. Seems to have flashed, couldn't play any retail games. So i decided to start over, went into JF erased the F/W (think that was boneheaded at the moment). Now the drive seems to be locked up, or maybe bricked. Drive does nothing, PC's SATA won't even see the drive now. So using JF is out it seems. Not sure what to do now. Any ideas?

Regards,
Joe W :?:

from the look of your post
the orig dvd drive was a lite-on drive and you want to spoof in a benq drive

if that is right
do you have the orig fimeware dump and/or the key that was in the dvd drive that came in the console to start with.
at this point i dont care anout the new benq drive
we need t6o know if you have the stock firmware/key

Wow, It's CoFree....Thx for the response, on that...I'm waiting on a CK3 to arrive since from what i read you can't get the F/W 74850C without a connectivity kit. What i have at the moment is the Xbox center LED in constant flash and the drive does nothing. So it seems the erase has made the drive totally inaccessible. I guess at this point i'm just trying to get the drive to a functioning state :D

Well if you have a lit 74850c drive how did you get the dummy.bin key.bin and the other 2 without a probe???

Well, as far as i understood using the ixtreme was a replacement for the stock F/W of the dvd. Like i said, it was just a test until i got my CK3 in a few days then i was gonna spoof it with my lit's F/W. I just didn't realize that by doing a erase and not just a overwrite i'd either a.lockup or b.brick the new VAD.

Watched some of shooters tut's and i see exactly what the deal is :) oh well....Live and learn...Hopefully i can bring the new drive back from the dead somehow. BTW, what else can we do to the Xbox mod wise? I have a feeling i'm ordering a COD SE Xbox tommorow :)
