16D2S get key question

hi guys just one question b4 i start flashing my 360 lite-on 74850c. things i have just so you know are.
1. lite-on 74850c
2.ck3 pro---with free probe
3.Vt6421A 4 port SATA adapter
4.XP pro. on a dell dimension 2400
OK guys my question is i was reading on a forum somewhere and this guy said about how unsafe the key you get could be and that he didn't have a 2nd drive to spoof be4 he used it on his main dvd drive, so the guy said get the key 5 or 6 times b4 you erase the drive so you know you have a good key.
can anyone tell me a bit about this if you understand what if put lol.
Do i 1. press the get key..... continually one after the other as soon as a key is given 5 or 6 times
or 2. press get the key and as soon as the save screen comes up press the red x to get rid of the save key screen and then ree use the probe again and then press get key again and do this 5 or 6 times. hope this makes sense lol.

what i usually do is open up a notepad doc and copy and paste the key there a few times
but yeah having a spare drive is allways a good idea just to be on the safeside

Well with a lite-on and jungle flasher, JF pulls the key 6 times and verifies they are all the same, and that they are good keys. This may be what the guy was talking about.

By pressing clicking the read button 6 times, you are actually pulling it 36 times.

The only way to actually verify that key is the correct key is to flash it into another drive, and test that. Although, its not like there are all kinds of keys floating around in the firmware, there is only 1, and it is in the same place every time. The only way you can get a bad key would be to get all 0's or all f's which would indicate something went wrong, and you failed to get the key. Therefore, if you get a key that is random numbers and letters, that is the key for your xbox.

With that said, I never check the key in another drive, as long as JF accepts it, and it looks good, I flash.

if i was to decide to try get another key or to do what djshauny said do. would i do it like i tryed to explain in my question lol.
witch was when iv pressed get key and it gos through its motions and the save key screen popes up. do i close the screen down without saving and then put the probe back in the 707 hole and do that same thing over again a few times???????

It doesnt really matter, you can save the OFW every time, or click cancel, either way the information has been pulled from your drive, and you are being prompted to save it or not.

The OFW is basically the key and some identification strings. The key is really the only thing you need...
