I use Verbatim primarily. When I run out, I use Sony. They seem to be holding up just as good as the Verbatim's.

Just curious, do you have to use DVD+R DL? or can you use DVD-R DL as well?

Ah okay, because I grabbed some yesterday and all they had was Verbatim DVD-R DL and they don't seem to work, whereas my TDK DVD+R DL do. So I think I'd better find some more + media cheers

I've never heard of -r's working at all. I've seen a few people try them, but never got them to work.

I use Infinity360, they seem to last well. I did use Verbs originally, but these seem ok.

I did use Aone for a while (the cheapest of the cheap), but I was getting too many burns that would boot into the game, but not be able to load it...

Any DVD+R DL that has the RITEK D01, RITEK S04, MKM 01RD30 or MKM 001 inks in them are good.
Philips, Traxdata and PiData Ritek use the RITEK ink, Verbatim use the MKM ink.
For best result's stay away from any that have a RICOHJPN ink, they are the ones that end up in budget media (Aone)

Now RiDisc is a bit of hit and miss, some disc's have RITEK other have RICOHJPN,
RiDisc Xtreme Double Layer has CMC MAG D01/RITEK D01 ink's.
RiDisc Full-Face Printable 8x Double-Layer have the RICOHJPN ink's.

I get my media from http://svp.co.uk/category/double_layer they show you what ink's are in the disc's on the site, so you know exactly what you are getting.

so far i have used verbatim, fortis branded both works flawlessly. recently i am using aone RICOHJPN D01 067 and they are holding up great but with the aone disks, there is a lot of clicking in the xbox. i just ordered zero defex with CMC MAG D01-D04, c how that turns up to be.

I use memorex dvd+r dl actually. They are plentiful here at my local radioshack :) which makes it sooooo easy to get when I need it. Plus I get like 3 for 10$, so I think thats a good deal. I have only backed up like 10 games so far, and haven't ever had one not work on me, so, at least for me, they work great.

what drive are you using. if it is benq then many of the brands work fine but if you have like a hitachi drive then best disks would be verbatim and fortis brands. they work best. hit drives are bit iffy with reading memorex and aone.
