.. I have 6 months left on my XBL membership If I take my Hard Drive and put it in a friends Xbox will I corrupt/ get his box banned? When I go to system info it says the gamertag is fine and NOT corrupt... my other question is.. If i do not remember any of the info I used to sign up to XBL eg email pass or any info, is any of that info stored on the actual hard drive? last i remember you have to go to account management to look it up.. the problem is you have to sign into XBL to get access to account management, being banned i cant sign into XBL to do that.. any help is appreciated as always and thanks in advance everyone.XBL/ Banned Console question...

hi - I think you wont get the other xbox banned, i think if you put the hard drive into your mates xbox, your info will be corrupt...might have to reformat the drive...though..perhaps someone else will be more helpful...you can recover your gamertag, on your freinds xbox....by going to the gamer tag part...enter your live id email address and password..thcbuzz0915 wrote:I was recently hit with the ban hammer..

I have numerous xbox's and have found the following to be true:
1. Your saved games on the corrupted HDD will still work fine in your banned console, however when you try to use those saved games in another console it won't even recognize it.
2. Downloadable content that is on your HDD will still work in any xbox and is not corrupted.
Don't confuse game saves with 'game data' or downloaded content. My advice to you is get a usb to HDD connector for your HDD. You can then backup your corrupted save data to your PC (in the event that I or someone else is able to crack the corrupted data in the future), and you can also download and save game saves from the internet (so you don't have to go through all of GW2 again for the 5th time). There is no reason to reformat, and creating a new save won't delete your corrupted save either.
I'm taking a look at what happens when you create and save a game on an unmodded console, and then play it on the banned console. I'm not sure if it will attempt to corrupt it. I'll let you know in a few.
